Areta + Slack
Your Slack context. Your next step.
Areta is an AI work assistant that helps you find information and complete tasks across connected work apps. Connect Slack to catch up on discussions, find shared information, and act on what matters.
Areta is currently available by invitation only. You’ll need an invited Areta account and a Slack workspace.
Get connected
Connect Slack in four steps.
Start in the Areta iOS app. If your workspace requires approval for apps, ask your Slack administrator to approve the connection.
Install Areta and sign in
If you have been invited to Areta, install the iOS app using the installation instructions provided with your invitation. Open Areta and sign in with Google or Apple. Public downloads are not yet available.
Find Slack in Plugins
In Areta, open Plugins, select Slack, and tap Connect.
Authorize your workspace
On Slack’s authorization page, sign in if prompted and select the workspace you want to connect. Review the requested permissions, then approve the connection if you agree. Follow any workspace administrator approval requirements.
Return to Areta and ask a question
Return to Areta and check that your connected Slack account appears in Plugins. Open a conversation in Areta and try one of the requests below, using your own channel or colleague names.
From context to action
What you can ask Areta.
Enter requests in Areta. Slack access depends on the permissions you authorize and the resources available to your Slack account.
Catch up on a project
Read a discussion and bring together decisions, owners, and next steps.
“Summarize recent messages in #project-updates. What was decided, and what still needs action?”
Find the missing context
Locate information shared in Slack without remembering where it was posted.
“Find the launch plan shared in Slack and show me the relevant messages and file links.”
Keep the team moving
Ask Areta to send a message on your behalf. Review any confirmation shown in the app.
“Post ‘I’ve reviewed the launch plan and will share feedback today’ to #project-updates.”
Your connection
Access follows your Slack permissions.
Slack permissions let Areta search and read accessible conversations and files, identify colleagues, and carry out requested actions such as sending messages or working with canvases and lists. Available features may also depend on your Slack plan and workspace settings.
To disconnect, open Plugins in Areta, open the connected Slack account menu, and choose Disconnect. Disconnecting does not remove original messages or files from Slack, or automatically delete separately saved Areta conversations.
Read our Privacy Policy for information about data handling and deletion.

A little help getting started.
Do I enter commands in Slack or in Areta?
Enter your requests in Areta after connecting your Slack account. You do not need to use a Slack slash command for this integration.
What if Slack asks for administrator approval?
Your workspace may restrict app installation or permissions. Follow Slack’s approval instructions or contact your workspace administrator. Areta does not bypass workspace policies.
Why can’t Areta find a channel or file?
Check that the intended Slack account and workspace are connected and that you can access the resource in Slack. Include the exact channel name or file title in your request. If the issue persists, contact Areta support.
Who can help with the Areta connection?
Visit Areta Support or email support@areta.ai. Include the steps you tried and any error message. Do not send passwords, access tokens, or private workspace content.
